Hundreds gather for help from faith healer William Champine VIDEO
COHOES — One woman suffers from an aggressive form of leukemia. Another is mourning the death of her son and has had trouble finding peace. One man has experience chronic back pain. One woman is in a wheelchair. These men and women were among nearly 200 people that gathered at St. Michael's Church in Cohoes to witness the work of 82-year-old faith healer William Champine.
Champine, born in Canada but raised in Troy, holds weekly services in the area to share his story, answer questions from "the faithful" and perform healings. His own story is miraculous in his own right.
Champine said he died but was brought back to life at the age of 7, was given the gift of healing in 1991 and has shown the signs of stigmata throughout the years.
